Good soil. Good seed. Great dad.
My parents have been missionaries to the urban poor in the Philippines for 11 years now. I'm so proud of them and the sacrifices they have made to follow God's calling on their lives. Before I left the Philippines, I got to take some photos for my dad's amazing ministry. For the past few years, my dad has been getting more and more involved with sustainable agriculture. He has been learning how to grow a garden of a variety of things including vegetables and several plants that are beneficial medicinally. He has completely transformed our yard in the Philippines into a beautiful garden rich with these types of plants. He is now teaching Filipino men how to grow their own gardens, so that they can not only provide food and medicine to their own families but sell what they grow. This provides a livelihood for these families. My dad is a firm believer in meeting the physical needs of Filipinos in order to meet their spiritual needs. My dad is part of a movement that is growing Asia and feeding them physically and spiritually. I am one proud daughter. If you want to learn more about my dad's ministry, visit his ministry's blog, Good Soil. Good Seed.
Here are some of the photos we got. They include photos of my dad's garden as well as some of the men's he works with.
I love you Mom and Dad!

Good friends and dance recitals.
So one of my greatest experiences since living in Dover is making such dear friends. One of my closest friends here has three adorable kids, and I have felt so blessed to be a part of their lives. Her two daughters had their dance recital last night and I couldn't help but take some photos. It reminded me of when I was younger and my sisters and I had dance recitals...
Nerves.
Wardrobe malfunctions.
Having sisters be your best friend.
Having a supportive brother always helps. :)
And feeling so incredibly proud once you're done performing.
Something I never experienced and what touches me so much about my friends here in Dover is the sacrifice they make as a family to be in the Air Force and serve our country. I feel honored to be a part of their life.
Good job Kaylee and Kaydence! Love you both.

Detroit
After about 18 hours of traveling from Manila to Japan to Detroit, I was exhausted but overjoyed that I had a nine hour layover in a city where one of my best friends from middle school/high school/LIFE lives. If you're gonna have a nine hour layover, that's the way to do it!
First stop: Greektown
So.. I have a little obsession with Greece. I haven't been there yet but it is my DREAM. So obviously, Jessica knew exactly where to take me. I loved it!
In true Greek spirit, we had gyros for lunch.
I was so taken with how much character Detroit has! I was definitely inspired to be an all around cooler person after my 9 hours in Detroit.
And of course, my dear Jessica. It was a blast to be with you again. Two years is much too long. Thanks for going on adventures with me in Detroit, even though at times we feared for our lives. Much love.
